“I can’t really begin to express how thankful I am for the caring, considerate, professional staff who administered my husband’s paracentesis, primarily Stephanie Cowan, but also Callie Reger, and assistants Lyn and Robin. My husband recently passed away, but I am positive that I have Stephanie to thank for saving his life at least twice earlier in the year — once, when he had had a heart attack, and her sharp eye noted the symptoms, and she sent us straight to the Emergency Department after his paracentesis. The second time was during a hospital stay, when he’d been checked in for a minor surgery. The doctor following his case — not his regular physician — wasn’t paying close attention, and if Stephanie hadn’t put a bug in my ear about it, he would have sent him home. Instead, he was moved to the CCU. I am so grateful for every extra minute I had with him. It’s a debt I can never repay.”

“I had a an MRI at your facility this morning and wanted to provide feedback. I am a neuro-oncology patient and have been undergoing regular/routine MRIs for seven years now. I have had them at many facilities (scheduled appointments and emergency room visits), so I know the routine…I chose your facility for this scan and will continue to come back for all future scans. I was greeted warmly when I arrived by Lisa, who, after my scan, saw me return to the waiting room and look a little panicked when I didn’t see my husband, and calmly said, “He’s here, I think he’s in the bathroom.” Shirley helped me change and took me to get my IV and was warm and friendly as well. Shannon, the technologist was incredible!!! I am a very hard start for an IV line and she had it the first try (which never happens.) She was so incredibly kind and calm, which is what every patient (even when they know the routine) needs and greatly appreciates! She explained everything and made sure I was comfortable and had a blanket. She checked in with me during the scan and told me several times how well I was doing. When she pulled me out to insert the contrast into my IV line, I said, “I know you can’t tell me anything but is the scan going ok?” (Even us MRI/oncology pros cannot resist asking in a moment of pure weakness and fear!) She was so gracious and patient with her response (I know that must be hard to be asked that question by patients.) She had her hand in my leg when she would put me back in the tube (such a small gesture that feels like the most support in that moment.) I am a medical provider myself and just wanted to thank your team. (I love that they gave me a card with their names and a bottle of water on the way out!) Small gestures that make the difference.”
