Dr. Schoenecker received his medical degree from the University of Colorado. He finished his internship and radiology residency at the University of Colorado Hospital and served as Chief Resident from 1983-84. His fellowship was in computed tomography and ultrasound at the University of Washington.

Dr. Schoenecker received his board certification from the American Board of Radiology in 1984. He is also a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. Prior to joining Valley Radiologists in 1988, Dr. Schoenecker was staff radiologist at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in Portland.
